Voor The Shape of Rotterdam zoekt Arttenders creatieven die hun stempel willen drukken op het Annie M.G. Schmidtplein! The Shape of Rotterdam?
In opdracht van Gemeente Rotterdam en Rotterdam. Make it Happen ontwikkelt Arttenders The Shape of Rotterdam: een serie interventies in de openbare ruimte, voor en door de stad! Bewoners en lokaal gebruik staan centraal. Ook in de selectie van creatieven tijdens het ontwerpproces. Want één ding is zeker: elke Shape wordt een bijzondere ontmoetingsplek en een icoon voor de buurt.
De eerste Shape komt op het Annie M.G. Schmidtplein en is er onderdeel van de ontwikkeling Hart van Zuid. Samen met twee Rotterdamse kunstenaars en/of makers zal Arttenders voor deze locatie twee unieke concepten voor ‘straatmeubilair’ uitdenken. Eén van deze designs wordt vervolgens geselecteerd voor implementatie.
Call for Interest
Om ruimte te bieden aan lokale ontwerpers en lokale verhalen zoekt Arttenders naar makers/ontwerper/vormgevers met een band met Rotterdam Zuid. Heb jij wat in je creatieve mars en sta je te popelen om dat te tonen aan de stad en al haar bezoekers? Heb jij een droom voor Rotterdam Zuid en de skills om samen met ons het plein vorm te geven? Woon/werk jij in Rotterdam Zuid of heb jij een andere link met dit deel van de stad? En ben jij beschikbaar voor het ontwerptraject tussen 19 oktober en 13 november? Dan zoeken wij jou!

The Shape of Rotterdam?
Commissioned by the Municipality of Rotterdam and Rotterdam Make it Happen Arttenders develops The Shape of Rotterdam: a series of interventions in public space, for and by the city! Residents and local use are central. Also in the selection of creatives during the design process. Because one thing is certain: every Shape becomes a special meeting place and an icon for the neighborhood.
The first Shape will be on the Annie M.G. Schmidtplein and is part of the development Hart van Zuid. Together with two Rotterdam artists and/or makers, Arttenders will design two unique concepts for ‘street furniture’ for this location. One of these designs will then be selected for implementation.
Call for Interest
In order to provide space for local designers and local stories, Arttenders is looking for makers/designers with a connection to Rotterdam Zuid. Are you eager to show your creativity to the city and all its visitors? Do you have a dream for Rotterdam Zuid and the skills to design the square with us? Do you live/work in Rotterdam Zuid or do you have another link with this part of the city? And are you available for the design process between 19 October and 13 November? Then we are looking for you!
