How can we engage families to participate in the design of the public square at Baltimoreplein in Almere Buiten? This was what the Municipality of Almere was wondering. Especially since COVID-19 is eliminating all types of physical gatherings, they looked for an innovative alternative for public participation. Arttenders was therefore asked to not only create a concept for the actual design process of the square, but also to invite young Buitenaren to actively help design the square.

In this project, we invite all children of Almere Buiten (and everyone else) to think as a real designer during the spring holiday. We are collecting the creative input of the kids before starting our own design process. The toolkit consists of a handout and inspirational tutorials by Lize Korpershoek.
